Migrate from 1.2.2 to v2

I tried migrating our website (www.catmoviez.com) to v2, but because of changes in the css and especially the use of "display:grid", it meant a lot of manual work and testing on the entire website as the entire structure was messed up.
Is there a guide for this upgrade or a way to be backward compatible there? I would love to make use of the new TypeScript code, but cant migrate because of css...

Currently there is no guide to mirgrate from version 1 to 2.
Help is greatly appreciated if someone wants to do it. I think we need some more demo projects to see how much breaks and what needs tk be changed.

In the development we had in mind that there should be as less changes as possible.
