More demo data sets are needed.

  1. Use GrieneisenTS from microbiomeDataSets for some demo purposes.

  2. Browse curatedMetagenomicData to identify good ones for human time series

  3. QMP data: Vandeputte et al (2021) provides a data set on temporal quantitative microbiome profiles. This would make an excellent demonstration data set to miaTime. Task: download the data, prepare code to create SE object, add to the miaTime package as a demo data set, add a visualization example in the vignette. Consider reproducing some of the key figures in the paper in OMA, as an example on how to use. Important: cite the original work clearly in all relevant places.

  4. Interesting new time series data set is available (readily in phyloseq format, for further conversions), including phylotree. Meerkats, long-term follow-up, 200+ individuals, 1000+ samples, seasonal fluctuations. Could be added either in miaTime or in microbiomeDataSets.

  5. Vaginal microbiota data set from Gajer et al. (2012) also to reproduce the figure for the review Faust et al. (2015).

@Daenarys8 could you check if the data set (3) is available in phyloseq format and could be converted into TreeSE?

Also, MovingPictures, which is available in phyloseq format in MicrobeDS
