Is this a use case: sharing folders

I looked through the docs and I'm not sure I am seeing my use case. I am a state coordinator for Lego robotics tournaments. Each tournament needs access to a (OneDrive) folder which will have spreadsheets and other files. Those folders and files are created with a python script. I have a spreadsheet with tournament names and a list of people (email addresses) that need access to the folder. I hope that I can write a python program to go down the list of tournaments and enable sharing with the people who need access, hopefully to include sending them all an email with instructions on how to access the folder. I'm not married to OneDrive for this, so there may be a better way, but I thought I'd give this a try first.
