@mmanos this is a pretty important feature. Ordering by general if possible. I would love to and look forward to digging in and submit a PR but looks like there is an existing PR that's been chilling for like 6 months without any attention.. Is this project still maintained? I use this thing heavily and will be distributing it in a module if it's in a healthy state. |
Perhaps a fork is needed to bring in these PRs and perhaps some of the work from the other forks. I'd like to get involved myself, but I don't think I have the time to dedicate to keeping a fork up to date. Perhaps @mmanos could give elevated rights to a few users on this repo? |
I think it would be a great feature. We had talked about it and last I remember we were looking at a way to fully support the driver pattern the package uses so that it would be consistent across all of them. I hope to have some time to work on this package soon. |
@mmanos I would interested in gaining heightened rights. Perhaps someone could correct me but I don't think there is a similar package elsewhere. Pretty solid but missing some very key features that prevent it's use on an larger level IMO. I would like to keep it in PyroCMS 3's Search module but really need scoring / ordering in order to do so. Happy to do them myself / with the collaborators. ^_^ |
Hey guys, sorry about the lack of response, I've just been a bit busy lately. To be honest I don't really have much time to put into this package so I'd appreciate any help you want to give. @RyanThompson I would prefer to stick with pull requests for now. @dmyers has agreed to help me review any pull requests and try to keep this package and it's issues moving forward. I still think it has a lot more potential. |
Sounds good! @dmyers do you have any knowledge to share on the subject before I dive in? It of course needs to be abstracted so all drivers can accommodate it.. Sent from my iPad

Is it possible to score some fields in the search higher than others? E.g. when searching for a movie, have the Title at 1.5, while keeping actors or directors at 1.
I'm using the elastic search driver if it helps.
Thanks
