Well, looks like the character ï in a facebook name make it crash without any warning or crash logs

After a fair bit of testing with another user. It doesn't seem like the issue is related to special characters in a users name but rather the locale de_DE specifically on Windows machines.

For people having this issue, please post your:

Facebook language/locale:
Windows display language:

This python bug posting seems particularly relevant:

However I am unable to reproduce any issues personally.

Thanks a lot for trying to solve this issue! For my part, my Facebook is in english (then I bet it triggered en_EN), however I'm french so fr_FR should be the unicode for my friend's name

@MayeulChassagnard Hello, I just want to say the script is updated now using a completely new method for data retrieval. This issue should not happen again. I'm not sure if you ever solved the problem so just letting you know
