Steps to reproduce

  1. For user that was succesfully created in Nextcloud from LDAP, remove them from LDAP and wait until LDAP user cleanup removes them from user search lists in Nextcloud (i.e. in file sharing function).
  2. Click + Create a new conversation in Talk, then enter any name and click Add participants and search for removed user.
  3. Press Create conversation.
  4. Search for removed user in Participants tab.

Expected behaviour

User marked as deleted (remnant) should not be present in search results in 2 nor 4.

Actual behaviour

User marked as deleted is present in results in 2 and 4.

Hi! we're using autocomplete endpoint from the core, so as long as server returns these users, we show them. Need to check, what's the difference in request with files_sharing.

LDAP user cleanup should not remove users completely, it's handled manually by administrator. Do you still see them in occ ldap:show-remnants output?

Main search bar in Talk module also correctly ignores users marked as deleted.

Yes, remnants are and should be visible in occ ldap:show-remnants output until deleted but should not be returned by user search lists in Talk.
