Abstract mdb_v8 into a cross platform C library

@davepacheco @jclulow @mhdawson @davidmarkclements @lucamaraschi We had talked at the Node Summit meetup about abstracting the excellent mdb_v8 library into a general purpose C API.

Let's use this issue to keep track of progress, discussion and design.
