Describe the issue you're reporting

I don't see integration tests defined in github CI.

I have created a set of integration tests that run as part of our helm chart over here: https://github.com/signalfx/splunk-otel-collector-chart/blob/main/.github/workflows/functional_test_v2.yaml

I would like to upstream this type of tests to this repository so we may test for regressions.
