Talked with a different local journalist today who frequently covers the Board of Supervisors and here are my notes, which were generated while we were sitting next to each other looking at the current site:
What is currently there is useful!
It would be great to include all transactions, in addition to aggregation, and to include links to source form for double checking
Also wants to break out by year of transaction to be able to clearly explain the timeframe and context to readers
Liked sorting by amount
Wants to look at donors across candidates, for example: fact checking a public remark about how XX has donated to all officials on the board
Would not be too hard to toggle between the two bodies when searching for a donor
CSV feels more unwieldy than a website, prefers to just pull the number off a site
I forgot to ask them how valuable visualizations and charts might be for them.

Just looked at the file that gets downloaded from Netfile and I don't think there's a way for us to link a transaction back to the filing on which it was submitted. So won't be able to do the second half of this item:

I've gone ahead and struck through that part in the original comment.
