Is there a way to get pagination without custom html?

I was looking at main table, and i see there's a class and stuff for paginations, but it looks like it needs the tablesorter css classes to get the nice multi line and boxes.

it only includes tablesorter on core pages.

whats the recommendation for pagination for plugin sub pages?
