New Appliance procedure prevents me from applying

Hi everyone,

My issues

With this new appliance procedure, I encountered multiple issues that makes quite impossible to complete it:

• it asks for a position verification: I enabled it also two years ago (same device, to apply for high school) and it worked, now it fails saying I didn't allow position. Tested both on Chrome (latest) on my computer and Safari (iOS 18) on my smartphone, marking as "Allowed" position for the domain education.github.com.
• 2 years ago, I was able to upload a PDF document as proof of my enrollment, now I am FORCED to use my webcam, so I printed the PDF to shoot a photo to it (not eco/user-friendly)
• webcam problems: on my iPhone 12 Mini, using Safari, only the front camera is recognized, so I had to shoot the photo by putting my head on the table to see the screen while shooting the photo to the paper on the table. This was useless as the quality of front camera is not sufficient to capture a readable photo (at least on preview)

After all these issues I submitted the appliance and it failed because the position was not recognized.

Other Country specific issues

Here in Italy, it's rare that a student attending University lives in the campus... the most frequent option is that every single day you take public transportation from your home to the University.
When you're asking why aren't you at the campus right now? and require a proof of a valid motif, I really don't know what to answer and what to upload as a proof:

• the University has not yet started, how could i prove it?! A link to my University website, which I cannot attach, where it's written the starting day of the lessons is sufficient?!
• I'm going to travel every day with public transportation: what should I upload?! My transportation card?! What if I'm nearby and just walk to the University or just take my car?!

The new appliance form is kinda ridiculous, doesn't respect different user documents upload (we don't have a badge as USA Universities), doesn't support correctly cameras, it's unable to detect allowed position (Chrome and Safari) and presupposes I MUST stay on a campus to apply.

Update: today I was able to submit my appliance with my computer, but I still had to convert my certificate of enrollment from PDF to JPG to respect the allowed formats (for now only JPG and PNG), which is kinda awkward...

Strangely (and luckily I'd say) this time the procedure was able to take my position and image uploads were enabled (previously I could only shoot a photo with the camera).
