All About Lists!

⭐ Starring makes it easy to save a repository or topic so that you can find it again later. However, what if you want to organize your starred repositories so that they appear under easy to reference categories?

That's where Lists come into play. Lists allow you to curate your starred 🌟 repositories so that you can easily curate and find repositories when needed.

I created a list for some project that I archived, but it added star itself, is this part of the feature or it's a bug, I do not want it add a star because I added to a list.

Adding it to a list automatically adds a star. Think of it as a way to organize repositories you've stared. I would agree with your sentiment that I wish they were separate entities entirely. I would love to categorize repositories into lists without starring them.

Please can you put a search bar around here? There is no search bar here that would do a scoped search thats bounded to that list only

I have a large lists like 60+ starred repos in one list that is paginated by default to 2 pages... I want repos to appear to me when I type in relevant keywords that are not limited to repo names but also their description.

Or another alternative solution might be to let us customize the number of list item that can appear in one page. I would like to get 100 list items in one page so that I can search use browser's find tool instead of relying on the proposed search bar

Is it possible to add a filter to the list of starred repositories so you can filter them by lists? So I could select "repo is not in any list" and it would only return my starred repos which I haven't added to any list

Would love to be able to filter all stars which are not in a list. I want all of my stars to be in at least in one list.

Would be nice to link a list curated by someone else into personal list.

Another useful feature would be a sort of suggested repos provided the content of the list, something like Spotify's playlist suggestions.

List selection bug:

1. Click on the star button.
2. From dropdown check the name of the list.
3. Without closing the dropdown, close the browser tab.

Doing this results in the checked item not being saved. I wanted to categorize all my stars, so I opened many tabs but didn't bother to close the dropdown after selecting a list, so nothing was saved.

Please register the check item event when the item gets checked, not when the dropdown is closed.

What if I want to organize all my repos including those unstarred, into lists? For now, every time I add a repo to a list it will automatically be starred which is undesirable for me.

I agree, i rather have an different tab for lists, i finjd that it becomes a bit of a mess, i rather have a low star count instead of the current 20 i have now

I suggest that the list should be an different tab, and the star tab should also be on it's own, i find that much easier to work with and i can also keep my github profile categorised.
