We sometimes show data from countries which use different definitions. It’s currently possible to briefly describe these definitions in annotations on line charts (e.g. below).
But the annotations aren’t visible in discrete bar charts.
I think the lack of this makes us uneasy to show comparisons between countries that use different definitions, so it could open up more uses for us.
Proposed solution
We could show the entity annotation on bar charts, below the entity name on the left.
Alternatives
We could show the entity annotation on the right-hand side of bars, similar to the "in 2022" shown above. But that could be a bit weird for cases where the entity name is already long.
