does not appear in kicad 7 in ubuntu 22.04

Installing the plugin either from the zip downloaded from here, or from the list in the Plugin and Content Manager does absolutely nothing.
Going to the Preferences->PCBEditor->Action Plugin in the PCB Editor yields an empty list

I could find no way to have that green PCB Way button in the toolbar, which is shown in the gif at https://www.pcbway.com/blog/News/PCBWay_Plug_In_for_KiCad_3ea6219c.html

Kicad has been installed from the official PPA
