🐛 [Invalid string length] The plugin doesn't work on web app

Hello there

My system info:

• OS: Ubuntu 22.04
• RAM: 16 GB

I want to export my design from Figma to Penpot using this plugin but it doesn't work on the Figma web application
I tried it tens of times but not working

Then I decided to clone the project from the repo and run it locally based on The README file and it worked

Now when I upload the zip file on the Penpot web application on the web browser (Firefox v-128) the whole system freezes and I face this message from Firefox:

I tried to use chrome but the same result

I was able to export from figma but am not able to import to penpot on the web

Hi there @SOG-web, unfortunately at the time Penpot is experiencing some issues importing big files and some times it crashes before the import is complete. We're unable to fix that part at the moment and we'll have to wait for some performance improvements from Penpot itself.

Anyway if you can provide us with the figma file or a similar file where you're encountering this issue we can check if the issue is really on the Penpot side.

Hi there @Penny7088,

The issue I'm seeing with this file is the same as in #214

The generated .svg exceeds the size allowed by the Penpot builder. We hope we can address this issue when we're able to change the export to a binary format.

Keeping this issue open until we can fix it.
