camera2 is only available in API level 21 or higher, and and 25% of Android users are still using earlier versions.

Deprecated

It's deprecated to promote planned obsolescence. Old devices most likely likely will never get upgrades because of f*****g vendors of blobs. Saying "must" in this case is promoting interests of corporations.
