Writer Type

Hello all. Just want to say I'm a huge fan of the library, in the process of converting my co-workers to this style.

To the focus of this issue, has there been any talk of implementing a Writer type? I've been thumbing through old issues and I haven't found anything yet. Perhaps it's been brought up before and dismissed, or it's simply something that hasn't been discussed before.

If there is a desire for Writer, I'd love to discuss helping out and getting a PR in the works.
