For paths to .gitgnore files that contain spaces (for example, one of our components contains a space and we include the component root in the load), adding and committing .gitignore files produces an error in the migration.

I believe this is due to gitFunctions.py:33 and possibly gitFunctions.py:311 and these lines should make use of a shell.quote invocation.
