I am using the app and love it for its simplistic design. Thank you @samuelmeuli and other contributors !
When I started using it, I felt that the app should allow capturing multiple entries per day. So, I forked out the repo and made some changes. I am sorry for not discussing the idea before jumping into implementation. Attached is the gif of how it looks. I have tried to keep it as simple as possible.

I like the idea for multiple entries per day. Where you put the multiple daily entries, I'd rather have an expanding list view of all diary entries on that spot, so that could cover the list view feature #68 and a place to view this too. Then maybe a "+ add entry" button somewhere
I think that the list view feature as explained in #68 should be an alternate view of the left sidebar. Currently there are - Calendar view and Search results view.
The multiple entries of the day is part of the Calendar view because of the relation between these. You would want to see multiple entries of the day on selection of the date from calendar.
I think, having button to insert time, or macro on { time } will be great. Having unordered list for one day and just putting timestamps where you need. It must have special formatting in storage, for future sorting / filters.
