Sometimes users mentioned in bday list and bday next show up as <@!…> instead of a correctly linked user name. This occurs if the users in question aren't in the client's cache (yet). Since this is actually a problem in the Discord client(s) I currently see no way to fix it on the bot side without significantly limiting its functionality.
As a workaround you can manually scroll through the entire member list of the server/channel. This will load the users into the client's cache for the remainder of the session. The next time the bot's post is loaded (during the same session) the users should be linked correctly. If not, they have probably left the server since the bot mentioned them.
