Hi all! I write web apps with Ruby on Rails and also am lead maintainer of the Bridgetown static site generator. I'm currently using Shoelace to build out a new website for my consultancy, and also a news feed reader app I hope to open source in Q2 2021. After many years of using large CSS frameworks (Foundation, Bulma, Bootstrap when required, etc.) because that's just what you do, I absolutely love getting back to basics with modern CSS (variables, flexbox, PostCSS tooling, etc.) and web components. It feels good to write CSS bottom-up by hand again for layout, theme, and typography, and then add on a component library like Shoelace for widgets and interactive bits. |
