Need help changing IP of server

Hi everyone,
The IP address of the server needs to be changed but I can't seem to make it work.
When I change the APP_URL that was set to the url that we used to access snipe-it and enter the new IP address in the .env file nothing happens.
I tried flushing the cache with no success with the commands php artisan config:cache and php artisan config:clear and refresh the configuration but again, to no avail.
What am I doing wrong/missing?
