Advice on asset tagging with barcodes needed.

Folks, I am just getting Snipe-IT set up and have added assets. I just got a ScanAvenger scanner so that I can quickly scan items particular for check-in/checkout.

I need to barcode all of these assets. I am not sure if the method in the documentation is the best way - having the app create labels for existing assets. I considered ordering a bunch of premade premium plastic labels from an online retailer and putting them on the assets. Then I'd like to scan each one into the asset record.

Is there a way to buy a bunch of barcode labels and apply that barcode info to an asset using a scanner? So essentially I'd be adding a preprinted barcode quickly using a scanner since it can send the info like a keyboard. I don't see anything like functionality in the documentation - manual barcode entry that is.
