Set Default Fields for List of Assets

Is there any way I could change the default fields for all users? We really don't need to see "Purchase Cost", "Location", and a few other things. I know you can use the dropdown to change the fields for your current session, but those, for whatever reason, reset to a group of default ones after logging out and then getting back in.
