Freezes VSCode on git checkout #113

Issue Type: Bug

When running VSCode on relatively big repo, checkout between branches with a lot of changes, causes VSCode to freeze.

Extension version: 1.5.3
VS Code version: Code 1.52.1 (ea3859d4ba2f3e577a159bc91e3074c5d85c0523, 2020-12-16T16:30:02.420Z)
OS version: macOS 10.15.7

UPD! Happens almost every checkout. VSCode loads CPU for 100%
