👋 Hello there, I'm Otavio Salvador. I'm a seasoned entrepreneur, developer, and author hailing from Brazil, with a rich history of working with Linux since 1999.
I became a part of the Debian Project as a Debian Developer in 2002, where I contributed significantly to its growth. My responsibilities encompassed a broad spectrum of roles, including being an active maintainer and Debian Installer Release Manager, among others. However, in 2017, due to my commitment to new endeavors, I had to make the hard choice of stepping away from the Debian Project.
In 2006, I ventured into the realm of Embedded Devices development, an area that has piqued my interest since. I started my journey with OpenEmbedded work in 2008, and two years later, in 2010, I also started contributing to the Yocto Project development.
My love for sharing knowledge led me to author my first book on the Yocto Project in 2014, entitled "Embedded Linux Development with Yocto Project." The success of the book led to the release of a second edition in 2017, and I'm thrilled to announce the arrival of the third edition in 2023, keeping up with the evolving world of embedded Linux development.
In 2015, I released another book focusing on an open-source approach titled "Heading for the Yocto Project." The book project is entirely open and can be accessed and contributed to on GitHub.
As an advocate for open-source software and shared knowledge, your support will fuel my endeavors to create and share more with the community. Thank you for being here, and I look forward to our journey together.
