@sfield17 pointed out that tutorial 05 incorrectly states that memory is not included in the current waveforms.

Obviously we need to

  • Correct that tutorial
  • More prominently advertise what is actually done in the data

I guess I had been thinking of the documentation as just documenting the interface. But really, it's also documenting the catalog in an important sense.

The catalog portal's landing page (https://data.black-holes.org/waveforms/index.html) also incorrectly states that extrapolated waveforms are for non-memory modes. Some users will interpret this to mean the current waveforms don't include memory.

I realize the catalog URL referenced above is not formally part of the sxs code, but I've always used it as the definitive summary of the catalog (which the sxs code interacts with).

Additionally, the newly upload ("v2") catalog entries had new Zenodo records created. Why new records instead of new versions of the old records? Moreover the new records are not within the SXS "community" on Zenodo.
