tmux

synchronize panes

Enable synchronize-panes by pressing ctrl+b followed by shift+:. Next type set synchronize-panes on at the prompt. To disable synchronization: set synchronize-panes off.

balance pane size equally

Vertically

select-layout even-vertical Usually assigned to: Ctrl+b, Alt+2

Horizontally

select-layout even-horizontal Usually assigned to: Ctrl+b, Alt+1

Instead of the Alt key, it may also work with Esc (e.g. Esc+1).
