Fluid Gutter Width Doesn't Work When Site is Responsive

I'm not sure if this an issue or just how Bootstrap works.

I am trying to change the fluid gutter width in the variables.less file on a responsive site and nothing is happening.

I posted in the Google Group ( https://groups.google.com/d/topic/twitter-bootstrap/4m4vcG07llQ/discussion ) but could not get a answer and the documentation does not address this.

Remember, I am using fluid containers and rows with responsive activated.

Any ideas?

Changing the variables in anything up to 2.0.4 didn't affect the responsive grids since those were implemented with custom values. In 2.1.0-wip, we've added variables for all of these though.
