Approach (1) is adopted in the Bergen edition of the MSS, which is the basis for my edition, and it’s clearly marked by the “v” or the “r” in the Bergen references to each passage that I provide in the headers.

Approach (2) is adopted by the editors of the published texts, who wanted to produce an edition of only the philosophical notes (Anscombe) or only the personal material that was left out of Anscombe’s edition (Baum, Perloff).

Perhaps use the 'original-type' property here?
