I created a secure chat between telegram-cli and the official Telegram Mac standalone app. There I configured that it shows my online status only if the Telegram window is focused.

Now I focus the terminal with telegram-cli running in it, then the Telegram Mac app and then telegram-cli again and it tells me:

User Someuser offline (was online [2015/06/07 16:30:45])
User Someuser online (was online [2015/06/07 16:35:49])
User Someuser offline (was online [2015/06/07 16:30:56])

The actual time is 16:30:45, however the second messages shows an invalid time 5 minutes in the future. The third message shows the correct time again and so forth.

Same thing happening here, the coming-online message has a timestamp that is 5 minutes into the future and says it is coming from was online to online, which does not make sense.

User Someuser online (was online [2017/06/15 12:13:48])
User Someuser offline (was online [2017/06/15 12:08:53])

I have made this https://github.com/ostrolucky/telegram-stalker specifically to work around this annoying bug.

Over 4 years and this bug still appears 🤦‍♂️

Well project wasn't touched in 4 years, so that's expected.
