Block Styling

There are a number of inconsistencies occurring in styling across our blocks when compared to existing shortcodes. The focus this cycle is working on reconciling these inconsistencies while taking into account how the upcoming Global Styles work in WordPress impacts this.

The aim here is to identify and implement an immediate update to existing blocks for the transitory state between where we are now and where we want to be when Global Styles and Block Themes/templates land in WordPress core.

A large part of this epic is exploratory in nature.

Deliverables:

By the end of the cycle we have:

• decided on a convention for the consistent styling of Woo Blocks.
• resolved inconsistencies between existing blocks.
• identified inconsistencies between existing blocks and shortcodes and a plan is proposed for reconciling them.
• identified and implemented an immediate update to blocks for the transitory state between where we are now and where we want to be when global styles and block templates/themes land (Transition to global styles roadmap #2403)
• find a solution to reduce the conflicts with 3rd-party themes and implement it in our blocks
• decided whether WC Blocks styles included in Core should be moved to our codebase
