When we use zellij, we sometimes get into trouble because of the session name. (#1907)
The session name can be changed by options. But, most users use the default settings.

So, how about changing the format of the session name as follows?

  • session_[NUMBER]
    • example) session_1, session_2 or session_3 (sequentially)

Or if you have other cool ideas, please share.

I think this is definitely a good idea to add as an option, but I honestly kind of like the default names. It makes you smile and gives you something to laugh about :) Good to have the ability to turn them off though if you want and still have autogenerated names as you suggest 👍

@imsnif Thank you for your opinion. Definitely! It's not the only bad thing.

After seeing your opinion, I thought about it again. It's easy to add features and make them optional, but I think if we provide too many features as optional, it might be complicated for the user.

So if more users are uncomfortable with this, it will not be too late to think again then.
