Share Loadouts
DIM allows you to share Loadouts you've created with other Destiny players. Shared Loadouts get short URLs that make them easy to paste into Discord or Twitter.
If you get a shared loadout link, you can open it up, click either the app or beta link, and the loadout will open right up in DIM for you to edit and save. Alternatively you can click the "Import Loadout" button on the Loadouts page in DIM and paste any shared loadout link there to open the loadout.
Here are some things to keep in mind with shared loadouts:
- Items are unique to your account. Sharing items in a loadout gives the recipient an idea of what you had, but they'll need to pick their own copies of each item. For weapons, they can click on each weapon to choose their own version. For armor, the best bet is to save Loadout Optimizer parameters with your loadout and let them use Loadout Optimizer to choose a set of armor that can slot all the mods you've chosen and fits the stats you like.
- If the recipient of the loadout doesn't have some of the mods you added to the loadout (or ornaments, or shaders) they'll be greyed out and will be ignored when applying the loadout.
- If the loadout doesn't appear when you open it in DIM, make sure DIM is up to date first, then try again.
Shared loadouts are completely separate from your saved loadouts - if you delete or update your loadout, the shared version isn't affected.
Note: If a loadout share link has never been visited by anybody in one week, we will delete it. This is to clean up loadout shares that we created but nobody decided to actually share. Once a shared loadout has gotten one visit, it won't ever be deleted.
