CO2MPAS known limitations

Model sensitivity.

The sensitivity of CO2MPAS to moderately differing input time-series has been tested and found within expected ranges when a single measured WLTP cycle is given as input on each run - if both WLTP H & L cycles are given, even small changes in those paired time-series may force the model-selector http://co2mpas.io/explanation.html#model-selection to choose different combinations of calibrated model, thus arriving in significantly different fuel-consumption figures between the runs.

Note that as of version 1.4.X the model selector is by default disabled. CO2MPAS is calibrated independently on WLTP-H data for NEDC-H prediction and WLTP-L data for NEDC-L prediciton. It is possible to enable the model-selector for engineering purposes

Theoretical WLTP.

The theoretical WLTP cycles produced MUST NOT be used for declaration - the profiles, both for Velocities and GearShifts are not up-to-date with the GTR. Specifically, these profiles are generated by the python WLTP project which it still produces GTR phase-1a profiles.

Input file.

Please note that from version 2.2.6 of the input file, released in February 2017 with the STAMP release, the Input tab contains links to the CO2MPAS glossary that extend/complement the comments provided in the input file (Column F of the Excel file). Those links may not work properly for Microsoft Excel versions 2013 and newer.
