Several Python modules and their dependencies will be installed in a self-contained `venv` (Python virtual environment) folder to support the operation of the keymapper and accompanying "apps" like the tray indicator. These modules are listed (for information only) in the `requirements.txt` file.

A short list of native packages (and their automatic dependencies) will be installed as the first setup stage on each supported distro type, mostly to allow the `pip` package list to cleanly build and install in the Python `venv`. But some native packages, like `zenity`, are critical for additional functionality that would stop working if they were removed.
