In the absence of a WICG Chair for your meeting, participants should self-assign someone to chair the meeting. Please use the following as a guide to run your meeting.
- Introductions: At the start of the meeting, go around the room and have everyone introduce themselves
- Record Attendees: Ensure that a record of all attendees is taken, including what company they are from
- Topic summary: Give a summary of the topic being covered. Don’t assume people in the room know what you are talking about. Get everyone on the same page
- Public Minutes: Minutes/Notes should be taken to create a public record of the meeting. GitHub wiki (here or on your spec repo), Google Docs or a similar platform can be used. If you are familiar with IRC, that can also be used for this purpose
- Inclusive Chairing: The person chairing the meeting must ensure that all participants are given equal time to speak. It is important to be mindful and inclusive, giving everyone a chance to contribute.
Remember, inclusivity and collaboration are key to the success of your meeting!
Here is the above as a short checklist:
- Assign a Chair
- Introduce all participants Record attendees Assign a minute-taker and use a public document Introduce the topic for everyone’s benefit
- Ensure equal participation
- Send the WICG Chairs a pointer to your minutes
Let’s work together to make this meeting productive and inclusive!
