From the number of pulls it looks like a lot of people use my kafka image. It was originally based on the Zulu java distribution because Confluent uses that one. When Java 11 was released and Zulu had no such build (solsson/dockerfiles#19) I switched to Oracle's new open source distribution because at the time it appeared to be LTS and it was "server". Now based on the "has concluded" status of https://jdk.java.net/11/ and some anecdotal blog posts I found it looks like they changed their strategy again.
Can anyone provide insights on the selection of a Docker Java base? I think we can shortlist three options: solsson/dockerfiles@e5f7b82.
