This week saw several improvements to Darker's functionality and community engagement. We resolved a critical issue with Git subprocess calls on Windows when dealing with repositories containing a large number of files, even if they were gitignored (issue #490). This fix enhances Darker's performance and reliability when working with complex project structures.
We also addressed problems with the GitHub Actions workflow, where the commit-range action wasn't functioning correctly in release branches (PR #486). This resolution fixes issues reported in #489 and #485, ensuring smoother CI/CD processes for projects using Darker. On the documentation front, we added a "News" link to the PyPI page (PR #491), making it easier for users to stay updated on recent changes and releases. Additionally, we updated our contributors list to acknowledge recent community members (PR #479), recognizing their valuable input to the project.
As always, we appreciate the community's involvement in reporting issues and contributing to Darker's development. These improvements help maintain Darker's reliability and usability across different environments and project sizes.
