Since the audio through HDMI takes up some of the pins on the board and then comes in conflict with the SPI 1, it should have it's own firmware? Or is there a different, preferred way?
You would use pinctrl/dt for either set of pins to take effect.

Audio must work out of HDMI and add-on USB audio adapters.
