Wekan for Docker Toolbox (Windows)

Problem

If you try to install Wekan Docker like this https://github.com/wekan/wekan/wiki/Install-Wekan-Docker-for-testing and try to mount a volume to mongodb you will run into an error as the filesystem of VirtualBox (used by Docker Toolbox) is not supported in mongodb. See docker-library/mongo#30 and https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/administration/production-notes/#fsync-on-directories for more details.

Solution (suitable for a longer testing with consistent data on a windows machine)

Make a backup of the mongodb every view minutes with a cronjob and persist the exported data to a docker volume. The uploaded files are stored in mongodb as well so they will be backuped.

To start testing…​

• install Docker Toolbox (with Docker-Compose)

• clone this repository

• tweak values of "mongodbbackup" in docker-compose.yml for your needs

• add a Windows env-variable "USERNAME" or tweak value of the volume path to your needs

• run "docker-compose up"

• start using wekan

Restore a backup

Execute with last backup-date: "docker exec wekan_mongodbbackup_1 /restore.sh /backup/2016.06.23.114014"
