The project name AuralGenius A description of the positive impact of this project for this specific category over the past six months (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024) AuralGenius is a revolutionary AI-based voice recording platform designed to help you capture your inspiration anytime, anywhere. It utilizes AI to convert speech to text and further breaks down the content into specific tasks. This process not only enhances work efficiency but also makes task management more intuitive and effective. Our development plan includes the following key phases: 1、We have completed the development of the platform's basic functionalities at the beginning of February and have successfully launched it. 2、As part of the Filecoin ecosystem, we plan to further integrate into the Filecoin environment in the Q2 of 2024. We will launch a new feature that generates Power values based on the users' $FIL holdings. Using the platform's functionalities will consume a certain amount of Power. It's important to note that Power values are non-transferable and will be automatically generated on-chain according to the platform's rules. 3、We aim to further enhance the platform's AI capabilities to allow users to utilize our services more conveniently. The project name Dappnode is committed to enhancing the user experience of running a node and promoting decentralization in the web3 ecosystem. Dappnode provides an easy, intuitive UI for users with no technical background to be able to run their own nodes. IPFS is part of Dappnode’s backbone, since this is how packages are distributed and stored in the DAppStore. Since 2018, Dappnode has been a significant player in the decentralization of blockchain infrastructure by selling more than 2,500 devices that run their own Local IPFS nodes. This is in addition to the more than 100,000 downloads of our free, open- source Dappnode OS. On top of this, the Dappnode SDK uses IPFS to upload packages made by the community and published in the Dappnode repository in the Ethereum blockchain. IPFS is an important key for Dappnode to remain permissionless and decentralized. Summarizing, this is what Dappnode is:

The project name IPFS Desktop, IPFS Companion, Helia A description of the positive impact of this project for this specific category over the past six months (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024) IPFS Companion has 70k weekly users augmenting their browsers with the ability to fetch and validate data with local IPFS tooling. This includes the ability to verifiably fetch content from Filecoin into a web browser. IPFS Desktop is a desktop application that makes it easy for users to host and pull data with IPFS. Helia is modular TypeScript IPFS implementation that can be utilized to verifiably pull data from IPFS storage providers (including Filecoin SPs) whether in NodeJS or browser environments. Some of the newer developments here include verified fetch and a service worker gateway) which verifiably retrieve and render content in a web browser, including data coming from Filecoin SPs that are announcing and serving their data. While these are IPFS-centric applications, they both serve Filecoin users by enabling retrieval of data with shared protocols, and ultimately many users self-hosting their IPFS content (or storing with centralized storage providers) look towards decentralized data storage and hosting solutions like Filecoin, while some do so more directly (e.g. via RIBS), others utilize intermediaries or platforms like web3.storage, lighthouse, etc. A link to the project’s GitHub or Twitter

Project name:IPFS support in Curl / Mark Gaiser Positive impact of this project for this specific category over the past six months (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024):Curl is one of the most used command-line utilities and libraries in the online world: it’s the program most developers turn to when they need to grab a single file or other resource programmatically. Libcurl is used on most mobile phones: Curl’s maintainer, [Daniel Stenberg](https://daniel.haxx.se/blog/2023/03/20/twenty-five-years-of-curl/), estimated that, as of March 2023, it had over ten billion installations. On September 23, 2023, Mark Gaiser’s patch to provide support for ipfs:// urls in Curl was accepted into this major project. As Mark notes in his [Filecoin Slack announcement](https://filecoinproject.slack.com/archives/C02EQ3ELFBQ/p1695469030375099), this took:
It also led directly to renewed work on supporting trustless web gateways for providing secure content from IPFS (and Filecoin) gateways. Filecoin and IPFS are joined at the hip, and in particular, access to Filecoin stored-data through IPFS, and therefore through web gateways, is a key usage pattern, provided by Web3 Storage, NFT Storage, and others. From October 2023 onwards, millions of developers have a no-brain, pre-installed way to retrieve IPFS content as native ipfs URLs. IPFS support in Curl was a key moment in establishing Filecoin-style content-addressed data as a mature technology in existing tooling: and it was down to the tenacity of one project, and, largely, one developer. I nominate Mark Gaiser to receive a RetroPGF award for his work making this happen. Links

The project name Lotus-miner A description of the positive impact of this project for this specific category over the past six months (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024) Lotus miner is the first data and storage onboarding and Filecoin block production software. Over 2,500 storage providers and 85% of Filecoin network data and storage are onboarded via Lotus miner. Lotus miner is also the primary software that secures network consensus by proving the storage and producing the blocks. A link to the project’s GitHub or Twitter https://github.com/filecoin-project/lotus Contact info for the project or project lead The core maintainers of Lotus Miner have now switched their focus to building the next generation of the SP stack Curio. However, many storage providers still use Lotus Miner. PL Filecoin Blue Fund has kindly contributed funding for lotus miner's support for the next 9 months. The rPGF fund, if rewarded for the past impact Lotus Miner has generated for the Filecoin network, will be used as a grant for the team or individual who will maintain Lotus Miner in the future to provide critical tooling continuity for the network users. . @magik6k has been the main developer of lotus miner for the past 4 years. Lauren Spiegel on Filecoin Slack or @jennijuju are currently the POCs to help sourcing maintainers for lotus miner (unless a majority of the existing users have been proven moving to other SP stack software) |
