# Roles and Responsibilities

## Chairperson

The FinOps Foundation Technical Advisory Council chairperson responsibilities include:

* Helping build a technical vision for the Foundation updated quarterly on a 12 month rolling basis
* Being the member voice leading and setting the goals of the TAC
* Collaborating with the Governing Board for funding initiatives that require funding
* Helping to determine what new programs to launch

should we use Working Group that is more defined in linxs foudnation instead of programs ? in others words, what is a program for the linux foundation?

* Providing guidance and assistance to working groups, special interest groups and other initiatives that emerge from the TAC

This line about guidance feels relevant to the TAC liaison to a WG/SG not the TAC chair

* Working alongside the FinOps Foundation Staff to:
* Review the TAC meeting slides, as well as contributing content and agenda items
* Moderate discussion sessions during the TAC meetings
* Extend discussion via asynchronous communication to be inclusive of members who cannot attend a specific meeting time.
* Schedule discussion of proposals that have been submitted
* Ask for new proposals to be made to address an identified need
