A point I mentioned on Discord that I'll reiterate here:
this ethereum/consensus-specs#2454 also worries me.
Especially what Micah mentions around the difficulty of socialization of tx_fees/MEV rewards for decentralized staking pools: This is because any attempts at socialization of the block reward by anyone other than the block producer will result in side channel payment systems springing up, which is bad for the whole ecosystem. If this holds true then the early results of exacerbated inequality from the uneven distribution of MEV rewards might not be as easily smoothed out by pooling.
