it's too easy to give too much

Consensus seems to be that with the new tip range slider (#1055) it's too easy to give too much now:

We need to mitigate this. Maybe a confirmation on tips >= $10? Maybe a confirmation on all tips? A clearer visual confirmation (cf. #1062)? An actual confirmation prompt? Maybe an explicit "save" button?

Whoah! I just realized how easy it is to accidentally start tipping someone, or change the tip amount for someone you are already tipping. I had played around with the new slider the other day, and when I happened to look at my profile today I was suddenly tipping someone way more than previously.

I think we need a confirmation for any change in tip amount. Begin tipping someone? Confirm it, even if it's a 0.25 tip. Change the tipping amount? Confirm it.

This is the expected behavior on almost every site on the internet that involves charging people money.

I would be suspicious of any significant changes in tips since the new control was put in place. Any previous patron who played with the slider in the past week may have inadvertently changed their tip amounts.
