What about just redirecting the signed-in user to their own profile page? |
@webmaven Yeah, that's an option. @ericmeltzer was in favor of that. @Changaco thought it was a hack and we should fix the root problem instead. @seanlinsley thought that we didn't want to lose what little discovery we do have in the "Jump to" form. |
@whit537 , the "Jump to" form obviously needs to just go in the nav header on all pages (ie. where most sites put a search field). GitHub itself is a decent model, as is Twitter. |
@whit537 on proper search, no. On moving the "Jump to" form? Mmmmaybe? I am, unfortunately, already overcommitted, but if by the time I have some extra spoons it hasn't been taken care of, I may jump in. |
@webmaven Cool. Reach out here or #gittip on Freenode and we'll be happy to help you get started. Thanks! :-) |
@whit537 OK. Fair warning, timeframe might be weeks or months. |

Ideas on what we want to show on the homepage for signed-in users:

On #2544 we changed the homepage. For anonymous users a static homepage is fine. For signed-in users we need some sort of dynamic timeline or whatevs at /.
