Let's do this once before we try to generalize. :)

was: build a network of crowd-funding platforms

It seems like it'd be a win-win for users of crowd-funding platforms to be able to spend their balance escrowed in one platform on another platform. So I have a Gittip balance and I want to spend it on Bountysource. That kind of thing. Can we address this in a general way that is good for end-users and helps build the overall network of crowd-funding platforms?

What's the user experience? How do we deliver it?

On the Bountysource side, we could allow a user to link/login with their Gittip account. Gittip balances would be available as a payment method for fundraisers and bounties. This would function similar to Bountysource account balances.

Simple mockup:

What would you like to see a Gittip user be able to do on Bountysource, from Gittip?

Love the mockup! And thanks for the call. Looking forward to specing this out and getting a bounty going. :)

Awesome, we're looking forward to this as well. :) We've got some ideas and we want to spend a few days poking around the Gittip code, we'll report back soon!

Seems like this has gone as far as it's going to go for now. For Gittip we need to refocus on our core product, and spending balances elsewhere (#299) is out of scope for that.
