Roadmap (what?)Short Term
Long TermColor code:
|
We should probably get some blog/microblog action going, it's been a while. Do we have anything to blog about? How's Twitter looking, @kzisme? |
I was really encouraged by the call with the OuiShare folks today (#314 (comment)). It made me feel like we are on the right track going to OuiShare Fest, that these are Our People. Here's the part of the call where I really felt like that. You'll see I picked up on some of the language from this old lightening talk (from #314 (comment)) about open companies, open non-profits, and open governments. I like that old lightening talk a lot, too. Reminds me about why I started Gittip in the first place and what makes me excited about it. I think I'll find a lot of like-minded people at OuiShare Fest. Maybe we should publish a blog post going back to that old lightening talk and also picking up on some of the recent calls—Nathan (#399), Neal (#403), Janelle (#72 (comment)), and now Taoufik and Francesca (#314 (comment)). Would that be an interesting post, do you think? |
The other big things I see that we could report on are HackerOne and then the accounting work (#308, etc.). HackerOne would be a pretty easy post, but probably filler from an interest point of view. The accounting stuff is boring but important, also likely low-traffic, maybe worth waiting on that one until we are further along with it. |
Also James (#421 (comment)). |
I think tweeting as each of the new teams is approved would help us get some positive buzz. |
Sounds good to me. |
Inbox 16, GitHub 6, L2 Support 0, Vendors, etc. 0. Gonna work down those queues while @kaguillera starts looking at the books for July 2012, and then jump on gratipay/finances#1 ... hopefully we can land that today! |
Support 0. I'm at least checking this every morning and trying to stay on top of it. Looking to carve out time to review teams every day; things are still a little crazy around here. |
!m @mattbk |
P.S. @mattbk Is COS's work relevant to your day job at all? Are you aware of their preregistration challenge? |
At the edges, yes. I'm trying to push openness at my job, especially of data and communication. The preregistration challenge is new to me; it wouldn't work necessarily for my job but it might work for other academic research I'm involved in (academia doesn't care whether you're paid for work or not). |
Apparently neither do we. 😞 But we shall! |
I just really feel like we're doing one of the most interesting things on the planet right now. Interesting to me, anyways. :-) |
P.S. Always with the snowflakes. |
Me very soon (#438 (comment)). Edward. Lucas Edward. UPDATE: OR IS IT EDWARD LUCAS???? |
(2007) |
I just did the very wrong thing, and bought that book ($38.01), to see if there's a note on where the painting is from. Don't tell @JessWhit. |
Aaaaaaaaaaaand the music just ran out. |
Gosh. Who are you, wonderful Estonian who made this slide deck? |
Ping @martinpaljak. Any chance you could help me/us track down the person who made this slide deck? I would like to snail-mail them a personal note of thanks. Thanks. :-) [ref] |
P.S. #462 (comment) SO MANY SECURITY SERVERS I AM SO SECURE> |
cf. #462 (comment) and #462 (comment). The snowflakes are masks. |
In a sense, we all wear masks, don't we? |
Alright, I think I'm slowing down. |
🍸 |
I just can't believe they passed up the chance at e-stonia.com. |
You know what's kind of messed up? Pittsburgh metro has twice the population of Estonia. |
Alright, that shiz is a pinned tab. Closing here before I do more damage. Peace, everyone. !m * |
OH: "We'll get a few anonymous parties to advertise the app on Reddit." @hurlothrumbo's suspicions are confirmed. |
GitHub 0! Moving on to gratipay/finances#2. |
Just discovered a Python Easter egg that I hadn't seen before. :-) >>> foo, bar = 1, 2
>>> foo != bar
True
>>> foo <> bar
File "<stdin>", line 1
foo <> bar
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
>>> from __future__ import barry_as_FLUFL
>>> foo != bar
File "<stdin>", line 1
foo != bar
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
>>> foo <> bar

I'd like to add gratipay/gratipay.com#3852 to embarrassments. Thinking about it, this may be more of a problem than we realize. It could be something we look at with Google Analytics, to see how many people drop off on ~user pages. |
