Keyboard navigation and screen reading for "add items to project" needs work

When I am in the projects page under "My Items" I work through the table via many, many tabs, then I can shift tab once in an empty row for "My Items" to find a "+" button that says "create new item or add existing item" and I activate the menu and I select add from an existing repository. Now a few things happen that are a challenge with this UI:

1. A side pannle opens and I start on the "close pannel" - please don't start me on a "close" button for something I just opened.
2. I tab to what looks like a list of items in the repository and it turns out that I have to tab through every single chech box for each item. But, this looks like a list and this is an area I should simply be able to up / down arrow through vs every item being a tab stop.
3. my screen reader only reads me the name of the item but does not tell me the state of active vs closed and it does not read me the issues number.

Overall I finding many of the tasks to be quite tedious from the keyboard and that some of the data is incomplete from a screen reader point of view.

I will keep trying to use the project section, but so far it has been a challenge to try and use it from the keyboard and screen reading point of view.
