Since Python 2.6 support was dropped, we can use all these: https://docs.python.org/2/library/unittest.html#assert-methods
This ensures the failure message, if any, is reflective of the intended value.

As promised in #76, some enhancements possible now that Python 2.6 compatibility isn't required.
